Bree At Last was born out of a culmination of some serious career dissatisfaction, and the gift of some much needed free time while recovering from surgery.
I’ve always been the type of person who, sometimes annoyingly, jumps at the opportunity to connect friends or family members with products or information that may be helpful to them in one way or another. I’m the one who will shoot out an email to my girlfriends when our favorite retailer is having a major sale, or jump on a Facebook thread to share a link to my favorite hair salon when someone is asking for reasonably priced recommendations (along with my own specific instructions on how to avoid paying too much), or send an excruciatingly detailed (yet informative;)) message to someone who’s traveling to some place I’ve been with any tips I can think of to make their stay as amazing as possible. So it only seemed natural to broaden my obsession of facilitating information to my friends and family, to a larger audience in the form of a blog.
So with that month-long “gift of time” I was granted, and with the help of my hubby, Michael, we got to work on building Bree At Last….just for fun. However, when it came time for me to return to work in January 2017, I simply gave my notice of resignation (read more about this story here), as I knew Bree At Last would have completely died once I returned to work due to the demands and certain restrictions of my former career.
This site, while a constant work in progress, is intended to be an extension of my own personal interests. It may seem to be a bit all over the place at times, but that’s sort of me in a nut shell anyway.
You will also find a smattering of personal stories, as well as our travel experiences….the good, the bad, and the really ugly.
I hope you’ll follow along and let me know your thoughts!
Now, about me….
In addition to being a wife, I’m a dedicated fur-mom to four dogs and two cats: Gidgie, Gracie, Gilbert, Gertie, Porky, and Odie.
…
I love playing around with different fashion trends….even if I regret it later.;)
…
I absolutely LIVE FOR traveling to foreign places and learning as much as I can about the history, and immersing myself in the culture of anywhere I visit.
…
I’ve always loved shopping, but with my previously busy work schedule I became an expert at online shopping and finding the best deal on whatever I was searching for. Nowadays, I’m not too big on spending my time wandering through the shopping mall, especially when I can find exactly what I need from the comfort of my own home.
…
Among other things, party planning and trip planning are two of my guilty pleasures. I am extremely detail oriented, which bodes well for these favorite pastimes of mine.

I’m always looking for ways to improve things…namely our home. I am the one in our household who draws up remodeling plans, and if I can’t do it all on my own, my husband is all too happy (slight sarcasm there;)) to work under my direction on what needs to be done and how to do it (eg. correct measurements, where to cut, what materials or tools to use, etc). My daddy was very handy and definitely taught me well! Most recently I re-tiled our entire master bath floor with 24″ x 12″ tiles (back breaking work!). I prepped the subfloor, calculated measurements and laid every. single. tile. and did all of the grout work. So while I can be a girly-girl, I am certainly not afraid to get my hands dirty. I have learned if I want something to be done the way I want, or at all, I just need to start doing it myself.

The ocean is my happy place, and salt water truly is the cure for everything.
