Hope everyone’s Monday has been relatively painless thus far! We had such a great weekend celebrating the marriage of one of my husband’s co-workers and friend. It was an absolutely gorgeous outdoor ceremony overlooking a scenic waterway, along with our landmark bridge and the sun beginning to set in the background. Totally made me want to renew our vows at this same picturesque venue, but then I remembered the nightmare that is wedding planning, and I quickly snapped out of it;)
I don’t know if some of you saw my instagram post about my outfit, but I was having a major wardrobe crisis the week before the wedding when it suddenly occurred to me that I couldn’t wear my usual cocktail dress and stiletto uniform, as I’m still limited to the shoes I can wear while my feet are healing from my surgery back in December. There was NO WAY I was going to pair some flats with a cocktail dress. Just ain’t happening with me. So I went through my entire shoe collection to see which shoes I thought I could bear wearing for an entire night of dancing, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to take them off (can’t risk stubbing my toes yet, or getting stepped on…ouch!). It was a painful process, literally, but I ended up choosing my Jessica Simpson Chalotte Peep Toe Booties, and they did not disappoint (and they’re on sale here as well)!
Since they still felt a little casual for a wedding, I paired them with a pleated maxi skirt similar to this one, and I got several compliments on my ensemble, which is always nice.:) These booties definitely carried me through some majorly intense dance-offs, a fairly legit re-enactment of the scene in Bridesmaids featuring Wilson Phillips, and they even carried me to the nearby afterparty, which lasted until 2am (whoops!). Sooooo much fun, but boy did we pay for it on Sunday, haha! I can’t believe we used to be able to go out every weekend. What happened to us? Oh right….we’re old now. Darn.
Anyhoo, as the title of this post suggests, the price tag of this fantastic structured bag by Henri Bendel (one of my new favorite brands) has been slashed IN HALF!! Unfortunately, the blush color is no longer available, but I’m absolutely loving this snake print satchel to pair with neutrals, and this powder blue croco version for spring paired with a crisp white button down, or simple white tee. This navy and royal color block satchel is also great for a more nautical vibe. And of course this simple khaki color, or the basic black one are the most versatile and will carry you through the entire year. I wish I could have them all 🙁
The Uptown Satchel comes with a removable shoulder strap, and I’ve been so pleased with the quality, which is why Henri Bendel is one of my new faves. I love the structured aspect of it. Kind of has a Birkin Bag vibe, without the ginormous price tag.;)
I don’t own this bag, but I’m totally eyeing it up.…especially at the 50% off sale price. I’m digging the beautiful laser cuts and can picture myself happily carrying it while wearing some cute beige gladiator sandals (love this Jeffrey Campbell pair!), an ecru silk tank like this one (also on sale), some fun gold accessories like this necklace, and my gold framed ray bans.
I also really love this Carlyle Tote, which is really reminiscent of the Birkin Bag, but it’s not on sale yet…. womp womp 🙁
Hope everyone has a great week!!
