Yet another coat I purchased for our trip to France that I wasn’t able to pack bc of space issues…womp womp:( I thought the burgundy color would be perfect for wine country….I mean hellooooo, we went to BURGUNDY after all. I always end up doing this (‘this’ being order things specifically for a vacation and not bringing it).
Dang weight limits.
I hope everyone’s 2020 is off to a great start. 🙂
Most of you all probably saw that we devastatingly had to say goodbye to our precious little Gertie monster on NYE following a disc herniation repair (her disc herniated on Christmas night). There’s so much more to this story, and I feel strongly (based on loads of research and consulting with several veterinarians) that she would still be alive today if it weren’t for a staffing issue that wasn’t disclosed to us until it was essentially too late for Gertie to have a 100% chance at a full recovery. We were prepared to deal with paralysis, but we could never have prepared ourselves for her spinal cord to die, which is called progressive Myelomalacia and is a catastrophic condition. Again, there’s so much more to this, but honestly I’m pretty emotionally exhausted from talking about it over and over. I’ll probably do a post about it at some point in the future.
In the meantime, most of what happened is explained in my instagram highlights.
Today is the four year anniversary of her gotcha day, so I’m obviously feeling a bit emotional!
Next week is a new week.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
