Whew! My eyeballs are basically crossed after a day and a half of staring at the Nordstrom site rounding up my top picks. And while I’ve seen some super cute merch that I would absolutely LOVE to add to my closet, I honestly probably won’t be shopping the sale this year. I don’t have a single credit card to my name (well, except for my husband and I’s joint credit account that I never use for clothing purchases), so I don’t have early access to the sale bc I obviously don’t have the store card. Plus I’ve frankly been so busy buying up trendy summer clothing for our upcoming vacay to Mexico, that I haven’t had a chance to inventory my fall/winter wardrobe to see what staples I need to add, which is pretty much the main reason to shop the sale…..wardrobe staples.
Sure, there was a time when I had sufficient disposable income to drop $80 on a cute shirt, but, as you all know, that’s not my current sitch since leaving my stable career. Starting a blog is expensive. Creating fresh content is expensive. Especially when you’re just starting out. This is partly why I wasn’t going to cover the #NSale, as I feel weird promoting a sale that I most likely won’t be shopping, but I also realize that not everyone is in my current situation and might be happy to scoop up an $80 sweater that’s been marked down from $150. So long story short, I decided I should discuss the sale for those of you who are excited about it, and able to shop it this year.
I’m planning to do round ups of my favorite (sort of) budget staples, but by budget in this case I don’t mean Shein or F21 prices. These will be quality pieces at attainable prices, but not like ‘if you skip three starbucks coffee orders you’ll have saved up enough to buy this” type prices.
I’m kicking things off with my favorite outerwear picks, all of which are under $200 during the sale (some are under $100). I have to say my two favorites of these picks are this plaid “biker jacket” bc I’m a huge sucker for plaid, and this cashmere wrap in rust bc it’s something I could see myself throwing on everyday during the cold months, and I’m sure it feels AHHHmazing.
If your size is already sold out, keep checking, as they usually re-stock a lot of items throughout the sale.
Just to recap in case you haven’t yet caught this other post detailing the basics of the sale and important dates, if you don’t have a Nordstrom card (and thus don’t have early access) the sale opens to the general public this Friday, July 20th, but you can start adding your favorites from the sale to your wish list now:)
Now check out the rest of my outerwear picks from the sale!
Let me know what you all think!
