Happy Humpday everybody!
I’ve been pretty eager to share this recent budget buy with you all. It’s not something I would typically purchase, but I’ve been wanting a more classic conservative dress to wear to some events. Considering the price (under $30), I figured I’d give this one a shot. And I have to say I’m pretty stinking happy with it:)
It’s obviously sheer and comes with a slip, but since the slip is shorter than the length of the dress, I decided to wear my own white slip and made the mistake of throwing on an off-white cami and you can see the difference in color in these pics. Oopsies ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also need to get a more appropriate skinny belt to wear with it, but this amazon find will have to do for now;) Yall know I love a good belt to cinch the waistline.
I couldn’t choose which way to style this dress, so I decided to feature it a couple different ways:)
It depends on the day, but I was really feeling the second look that day:) I got these Asset booties c/o Aerosoles at the end of the year and they are seriously so comfy, especially for how high the heel is. I’ve worn them a ton around town for all-day events without issue. They come in three colors and are on major sale now.
I kinda love how the gold zipper detail on the booties coordinates with the gold hardware of my Brahmin bag, which was gifted to me when I attended an event celebrating their spring launch. They have the cutest bags for spring and summer, and the price points are similar to a Coach, Kate Spade, or Rebecca Minkoff bag. The quality is impeccable too.
Sorry my posing is so annoying in these pics and I’m messing with my hair so much. I know that’s a standard ‘blogger pose,’ but it was actually pretty breezy when we were taking pics and I had to keep pulling my hair out of my mouth.
I’ve linked my exact outfit deets, minus my denim jacket, which is a really old Target buy, and my Walmart earrings, which I couldn’t find online. I also linked some other similar dresses that I’m still eyeing up since I’m really digging this style lately.
My hat is so so cheap, but I kinda love it. If you click to shop it you’ll notice that it has a black band online, and obviously mine doesn’t. That’s because my DIY hacking never stops so I ripped off the black one, bought a roll of beigey ribbon and a glue stick at Walmart, and went to town trying to give my cheapo hat a little upgrade;) While it’s no “Lack of Color” lid, it gets the job done….especially for travel. This thing was shipped in a plastic pouch and was completely crushed when I received it, but it amazingly snaps right back into place.
Which look is yall’s favorite?
